YAK Agency is the communication agency chosen by Udinese Calcio for the launch of the eSports team.

Marco Dalla Dea and Giovanni Cecolin’s agency is supporting the club for the launch strategy of the project, which represents a development asset for Udinese Calcio both in terms of fanbase growth, and in terms of business.

eSports, indeed, are an ever-expanding phenomenon also in Italy, with 5,9 million daily gamers and a potential user base of 14,3 million people. In this field, sports titles are preferred by 2,2 million users. Amazing numbers if compared to the percentages of football supporters that own a console: 32%. The gamer’s profile is very interesting: 50% of those who play football own a console, 90% of football fans that are between18 and 50 years old play videogames.

In addition to strategy consulting in all the phases of the project, YAK Agency will also give support to Udinese Calcio in the production of graphic materials for online and offline communication.

We are happy to support Udinese Calcio in this ambitious project, and to put our experience in sport and in the digital world at the disposal of the club - claim Marco Dalla Dea and Giovanni Cecolin, YAK Agency’s managing partners - Data tell us that eSports are an ever-expanding phenomenon, which can engage new gamers, audiences, and sponsors. To do that, new strategies, instruments, and languages are required, and this is what Udinese is using to reach its objectives”.

Among the initiatives that have already been realized, the club has organized a tournament at the Dacia Arena to select the first two gamers of the eSports team: a unique event in Italy, which attracted over 200 gamers in 2 days of competitions on FIFA20 and PES2020.

I am enthusiastic about this project - explains Stefano Campoccia, Vice-President of Udinese Calcio - I am proud of the way Udinese has immediately made all the necessary efforts and showed great professionalism to make it start in a structured way, aiming at creating a community of young gaming enthusiasts that look beyond football, and combining this with a correct education and a healthy lifestyle that must include also sports practice”.
