SMILE RUN: on September, 12 the charity run comes back

After the stop due to COVID-19, the non-competitive race starting at 6 p.m. in Prato Della Valle will be the first scheduled run. All proceeds will be donated to Team for Children NPO, L'isola che c'è NPO and ViviAutismo voluntary organization.

Padua, September 7, 2021 - Sunday, September 12, the SMILE RUN– the non-competitive charity race with start and finish in Prato della Valle    comes back. After more than a year's stop due to COVID-19, the event in its second year edition brings the run back to the city. The two routes to choose from – a 5 km and 10 km ones - will color the city center yellow. The departure is set for 6 p.m. from the Smile Village. From 4:00 p.m., the presenter of the event Melita Toniolo and the deejays of Radio Padova will animate the event. Pre-registered participants will be able to collect their race packs and official jersey from 10.00 a.m.

All the proceeds of the event – a 10 euros’ registration fee per person – will be entirely donated to the Team for Children NPO, L'isola che c'è NPO and ViviAutismo voluntary organization to support their project in favor of less fortunate children and their families. Thanks to the support of the sponsors and the promoter - the Padua communication agency YAK Agency - every Euro collected will be donated to charity without any deduction for the organization.

To the first 3,000 subscribers a race pack containing many gadgets and coupons offered by sponsors, as well as an exclusive technical shirt signed by the illustrator Ale Giorgini will also be guaranteed. The SMILE RUN is open for people of all ages and levels of preparation, with the opportunity to run or walk on clearly marked path through the streets of Padua. The run will be an opportunity for everyone to meet and have fun: children, young people, families can be part of a day in the sign of outdoor sports, helping in supporting charitable projects.

Charities
With the registration, each participant of the SMILE RUN will contribute to support the projects of the associations involved. In 2019, in its first edition, the race donated 16,400 euros to Team for Children and L'isola che c'è. Although in 2020 the event was postponed due to COVID-19, the organization still donated over 4,300 euros, which was paid by the pre-registrants, to the Green Cross of Padua in order to support its expenses during the first phase of the health emergency. Proceeds from the 2021 edition registrations will help Team for Children NPO, L'isola che c'è NPO and ViviAutismo voluntary organization.

Team for Children NPO has been working for more than 12 years with doctors and the staff of the Pediatric Oncohematology Department of the Hospital of Padua to support children and young people, suffering from cancer and childhood leukemia, together with their families.

L’ISOLA CHE C’È Associazione Hospice Pediatrico NPO has supported the Regional Center for Palliative Care and Pediatric Pain Therapy for 10 years, taking of care of children with pain and incurable issues and their families.

ViviAutismo voluntary organization develops projects dedicated to people with autism and their families. The increase of skills, the maximum possible autonomy, social integration and, above all, the improvement of the quality of life are the goals of the association, that deals with children but also with young people and adults.

The route
The start is set for 6:00 p.m. in Prato della Valle, with staggered departures to avoid crowds. In the heart of the city, participants can choose between a 10 km or a 5 km route, both with arrival in Prato della Valle. The two itineraries, which will wind through the historic center of Padua, are available on the race website and will soon be downloadable in gpx format. Along the route and at the arrival, there will be refreshment points for participants. The event will take place, even in the case of rain.
