A team from YAK Agency has arrived in Honiara in the capital of the Solomon Islands to closely follow the Pacific Games' boxing tournament, marking the fifth stage of the Boxing Road to Paris qualification pathway for the Olympic Games Paris 2024. From November 27th to December 2nd, over 140 athletes from 17 Pacific nations will compete at Honiara's Friendship Hall (SOL) across 13 weight categories, 7 for men and 6 for women, vying for one of the 13 Olympic passes allocated for the Oceanic continent.
YAK Agency is committed to managing communications, overseeing press operations, and maintaining relations with international media. This responsibility stems from a longstanding collaboration with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), which since 2019 has entrusted us with the pivotal task of handling communications for all boxing qualification events, initially for Tokyo 2020 and now for Paris 2024.
The Olympic boxing qualification journey will continue in 2024 with two World Qualifiers: the first in Italy, in Busto Arsizio, from March 4th to 11th. The second in Thailand, in Bangkok, from May 23rd to June 3rd. At these two events, boxers from around the world will have their final opportunity to earn their ticket to the Olympics.
