YAK Agency is in Bangkok to follow the Boxing Road to Paris 2nd World Qualification Tournament. From May 24 to June 2, in the Thai capital, 578 boxers from 132 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and the Boxing Refugee Team will compete in 13 weight categories, 7 for men and 6 for women, to earn one of the 51 remaining quota spots for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
A team from YAK Agency is on site, managing communications, overseeing press office operations, and international media relations. This responsibility is the result of a long-standing collaboration with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), which has entrusted us with the important task of managing communications during all boxing qualification events since 2019, initially for Tokyo 2020 and now for Paris 2024.
This event marks the final step in a series of seven qualification tournaments, taking place from June 2023 to June 2024. Five continental qualification tournaments in 2023 - European Games in Krakow (POL), Africa Qualification Tournament in Dakar (SEN), Asian Games in Hangzhou (CHN), PanAmerican Games in Santiago (CHI), and Pacific Games in Honiara (SOL) - were followed by two world qualification tournaments in 2024 in Busto Arsizio (ITA) and Bangkok (THA). In total, 248 Olympic spots are up for grabs, equally divided between men and women, across 13 weight categories, providing boxers with the opportunity to transform their Olympic dream into reality.
