YAK Agency has managed the communication of Christmas in Padua 2018

Marco Dalla Dea’s and Giovanni Cecolin’s agency was entrusted with the management of the press and digital communication of the 2018 edition of Christmas in Padua

Padua, 05.12.2018 - Creative and graphics design, web communication, photo and video production, social media strategy, multichannel promotion (TV, newspapers, cinema) and press office are the activities that the Municipality of Padua entrusted YAK Agency with for the promotion of the 2018 edition of Christmas in Padua, the traditional event that is held every year at Christmas time and that includes several attractions for adults and children, concerts, markets and much more.

“A city of stars”, the 2018 theme, reminds not only of Christmas lights, but also of some of the main features of the city’s history, like the stars observed by Galileo or the Scrovegni Chapel painted by Giotto. A perfect combination of many events that make this time of the year so special, Christmas is made of situations, sensations and events that perfectly dovetail, as if by magic, and create a unique dimension of fascination and serenity. And it’s this combination of events and sensations that our team wanted to depict in the official visual of the 2018 edition, asking the artist Ale Giorgini to create an illustration consistently with the theme of the event. 

Many different activities have been carried on by the agency - which has its headquarters in Padua but an international background - to promote all the scheduled events of Christmas in Padua from November 23 to January 6. An integrated communication that involves all the main communication means, form the traditional (tv, web, newspapers, billboards and posters) to the most innovative ones (social networks and cinema), to convey a simple and emotional message: “Padua is a city of stars. At Christmas time even more”.  

Starting form the restyling of the official website (ww.nataleapadova.it), renewed in the graphics  and made more suitable for the tourism promotion in the city with the addition of the English language, YAK Agency has supported the municipality of Padua in the promotion of all the cultural and entertaining activities providing content production, translation and image selection services, aiming at making the portal a simple tool for the thematic and chronological search of the events by citizens and tourists.

Along with the activities on the website, the team has dealt with the strategic management of the Facebook page, sharing two types of posts: on the one hand, teaser, emotional contents focusing on upcoming events; on the other hand, informative posts about concerts and other activities. A rich events calendar that our team is reporting by means of professional photo production and real time post-production to share the most meaningful images on social networks. In addition to the graphics adaptations for advertising materials, the agency’s journalists will support the press office of the Municipality of Padua with the creation of press releases to be transmitted to the main local newspapers.

The commercial, shot in the most representative places of the city, is based on the main theme of the 2018 edition of “Christmas in Padua” and leverages the best-known and most meaningful spots of the city, sparkling with the lights of this Christmas: from the Scrovegni Chapel to the Specola, from Prato della Valle to the Basilica of Saint Anthony, without forgetting the shops that enliven the city. Launched on November 2019, the commercial - that today boasts over 1,600 shares and almost 75,000 views - will be released in some of the main cinemas of the city and of the province and will be broadcasted all over the region Veneto on local channels, gaining an extended and widespread visibility, as an evidence of the will to boost the communication and promotion of the activities organized in Padua.
