YAK Agency contributed to media activities at the “Changwon Peace and Democracy Forum” held in Changwon, South Korea, on the 1st of September.

The former UN Secretary General and now President of the IOC Ethics Commission Ban Ki-Moon participated in the forum - held on his home turf - as the guest of honor.

Over 200 delegates met there, in a day dedicated to discussion panels and keynote speeches revolving around the relationship between Sport, Democracy and Peace. The Forum takes place in an historic moment for the Korean Peninsula, which is divided along the 38th parallel since more then 60 years.

The event indeed takes place after the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in Peyongchan - where the two Koreas paraded together - and the inter-Korean meetings and the North Korea - USA meetings held in the last months.

“Sport and peace have a profound relationship. Sport can contribute to peace as it has the power to promote tolerance and mutual understanding,” said Ban Ki-Moon, addressing the Forum in his keynote speech.
“We have witnessed that at the Peyongchan Winter Olympics, that will remain as an historical moment of peace for the Korean peninsula.”

YAK Agency was involved in press office and content production activities, with two photographers, two editors and one account on site, in South Korea, and the support of its Italian headquarter for the digital activities.

Witnessing  events of this magnitude is a real honor,” YAK Agency’s Managing Partner Marco Dalla Dea said, while in South Korea to follow the Forum and a series of events. “Sport is more then a job, for us. It’s a way of life. We believe in values such as fair play, mutual respect and dedication. Those values are key to success in everyday’s life, as well as in business and sport. Sport can build peace, and it does so by building better people.
