Due to the consequences of the pandemic that also involved our country, the second edition of SMILE RUN initially scheduled for 13 September 2020 has been postponed to 12 September 2021.
We are sorry to announce that the second edition of the SMILE RUN, the non-competitive charity run in Padua conceived and organized by YAK Agency, will be postponed due to the consequences of the pandemic, which do not yet allow us to guarantee the feasibility of such a complex and well-attended event. The uncertainties linked to the lack of definitive provisions regarding events such as ours, as well as our desire and need to guarantee all the security measures to protect participants, staff members and volunteers, do not allow us to confirm the holding of the race, initially scheduled for September 13th.
The appointment with the race conceived to give a smile to children in difficulty has been postponed for one year, and the new date has already been set: Sunday 12 September 2021, with departure and finish in Prato della Valle. Registrations, active from 31 March 2020, will remain open until the day of the event, and the ones already received will be valid for the 2021 edition: it will be sufficient to present the confirmation email received during registration on the day of the race.
There are almost 500 confirmed registrations, whose proceeds (about 5,000 euros) have already been entirely devoted to charity: the proceeds from the month of April, as already announced, were used to support the activities of Croce Verde di Padova in the midst of the CoVid-19 emergency, while the proceeds from enrolments from May onwards were donated to three selected non-profit organisations in the area that work to support children in difficulty and their families: Team for Children ONLUS, L'Isola che c'è ONLUS, Associazione ViviAutismo ONLUS.
Even if the race is postponed to 2021, the help that participants wanted to donate by registering for the SMILE RUN 2020 has already reached the recipients: in a difficult situation like the one we are going through, despite the impossibility of running this year, we are proud of having been able to contribute to important causes thanks to the support of those who wanted to join despite the uncertainties of the period.
