WORLD CUP

It is very far away, Iceland, it’s near Padua, Iceland!”. The innocent sentence of a child, said during Zecchino d’Oro (an Italian singing competition for children) 23 years go, suddenly became a viral catchphrase last year, resulting in thousands of Facebook sharings and 500 thousand visualization on YouTube. That child didn’t know that Padua and Iceland are not close to each other, in fact, as they are almost 4 thousand km away.

However, these days there is a fil rouge that symbolically connects Padua and the Vikings taking part in the World Cup. YAK Agency, a communications agency based in Padua, is following the Iceland National Football Team step by step. The agency has given birth to a project that is meant to increase the popularity of the team of Hallfredsson & company, sent two people of the team to Russia, and brought a small piece of Pauda at the heart of the most important sport event of the year: the World Cup. The agency led by two schoolmates of the Cornafo High School in Padua, Marco Dalla Dea and Giovanni Cecolin, is based at Fornace Morandi, in Padua.

It is currently in Russia to create photo and multimedia contents regarding the team that has gained the sympathy of many Italian people. YAK Agency has a long-lasting experience in sports and has arrived to the Iceland National Team through the partnership with Erreà Sport, sponsor of the Iceland National Team, the only Italian athletic brand at the World Cup. The agency has been focused on Russia for months, launching the #InnerViking photo contest and inviting people from all over Europe to support for the guys dressed in blue. The result was amazing, as the contest reached 5 million people all over the world.

We’ve been in sport industry for over ten years - claims Marco Dalla Dea - and we work all over the world. This is our first World Cup, but we’ve attended the Olympic Games in Beijing, London and Rio de Janeiro. We are already thinking about Tokyo 2020”. The agency follows football, basketball and athletics, as well as ski, target and clay shooting. “We’ve always looked far, but our heart is in Padua - adds Cecolin - this city is as good as Milan and as other big European cities in terms of creativity”.

The excellence of the guys from Padua behind the screen, the excellence of the Vikings on the field: no matter the result of the match Iceland-Croatia, this union has already showed to be a winning one.
